

An elderly woman suffered injuries after she was stabbed at her home late last month, according to court records.

Sean Hughes, 49, of Falls Township, was arrested on Sept. 29 following an incident at a residence on the 1400 block of Old Bristol Pike in Falls Township.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 12:18 p.m. after receiving a 911 emergency call from a neighbor, authorities said.
The caller alerted dispatchers that an 80-year-old woman was bleeding from her face and ears and required police assistance, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who reported that her son had come into her bedroom while she was praying and stabbed her in the ear using a pen, police said.
She further told police that Hughes grabbed her around her neck and throat during the assault, according to police.

Officers said they located Hughes inside a bedroom at the residence. He was taken into custody without incident.
Hughes was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge John Galloway on charges of aggravated assault and harassment. He was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
