Bristol Man Hospitalized After Tractor-Trailer Crashes, Jackknifes

A 58-year-old Bristol man was hospitalized Monday afternoon after his tractor-trailer crashed and jackknifed along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The crash happened at approximately 4:15 p.m. in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The Freightliner truck veered out of the right lane of the highway and collided with a concrete barrier located at the Welsh Road overpass. After the first impact, the truck reentered the right lane before traveling off the roadway and going up an embankment and jackknifing, state police said.

The driver was transported by the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler to Abington Hospital for treatment, state police said.

Troopers reported that the cause of the crash remains unknown, and no citations will be issued to the truck driver.
