A police investigation into an April incident reported by a woman has led to serious charges against a man.

Angelo Peter Pollace III, 37, of Bristol Borough, was arrested last Friday. He is charged with attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, strangulation, indecent assault by forcible compulsion, indecent assault without consent, simple assault and harassment.
The charges come after a June 3 report made to a police officer on Radcliffe Street at 4 p.m. A woman approached the officer to report an assault involving a man she had known for a long time, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The woman met Pollace outside his Market Street workplace in April and went to his borough residence because of a understanding between them. The woman noted she did not find the situation unusual due to their lengthy friendship, police said.

While at the home, Pollace exposed himself and attempted to force sex acts, but the woman verbally refused, police said.
Pollace choked the woman to the point she could not breathe, stopping only when she signaled him to do so, according to police.

The 37-year-old man then bit her cheeks, ripped off her shirt, and bit her in a sensitive area, police said.
In court papers, police said the woman overpowered Pollace and escaped the home.
The woman provided officers with photos displaying redness, bruising, and other visible injuries that matched her account.

A Bristol Borough police detective investigated the allegations and filed the charges last week.
District Judge Daniel Baranoski preliminarily arraigned Pollace and set bail at 10 percent of $100,000.
