Over his 88 years, Edward Dikun made an impact on many lives through his community, his membership with the Croydon Fire Company, and as a welcoming face to customers at the Walmart in Tullytown Borough.

Dikun, a resident of the Croydon section of Bristol Township, died Aug. 1.

Born in Hungary, Dikun moved to America and built a life focused on kindness and family. According to his obituary, he was proud of his service with the Croydon Fire Company.
As news of his death spread, numerous Walmart shoppers shared memories online of interacting with him over the years.

Members of Dikun’s Walmart family joined members of the fire company and direct relatives last Thursday for a memorial ceremony held at the fire station on State Road.
Dikun was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
