Bristol Township has locked in its contract for the 2026 road repaving and sidewalk ramp program.

Last month, Bristol Township Council approved a $3,395,586.24 contract with James D. Morrissey, of Philadelphia, to carry out the work across the municipality.
James D. Morrissey submitted the lowest of four bids received by the township, which included all alternate proposals, officials said.
Officials decided to consolidate the annual road resurfacing with storm inlet replacements and the installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, Township Manager Randee Mazur said.

The decision to merge the projects was made to streamline the overall construction process, Mazur explained.

Under the approved contract, the dedicated ADA curb ramp installations will be focused on the Plumbridge and Red Cedar neighborhoods.
Inlets will be improved in parts of the Plumbridge and Red Cedar neighborhoods, as well as on Dixon Avenue.
Bristol Township has a municipal road network of approximately 173 miles.

The township looks to repave roads every 20 years, but annual inspections and repairs can change that schedule.
