PennDOT said the upcoming work is part of the larger project to overhaul the Langhorne-Yardley Road and the intersections at Bridgetown Pike and Woodbourne Road.

Flagging crews will direct motorists daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 30, through Friday, June 12.

According to PennDOT, the flagging operations will affect Langhorne-Yardley Road between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road, as well as Woodbourne Road between Kilburn Road and the entrance to Core Creek Park.

PennDOT advised drivers to allow extra travel time and expect delays through the construction zones.

The scheduled paving is dependent on weather conditions.

The overall project features several infrastructure upgrades, including a new single-lane roundabout at Langhorne-Yardley Road and Bridgetown Pike, which reopened to traffic last August.

The project also involved realigning the roadway and installed updated traffic signals, stormwater management systems, ADA-compliant curb ramps, new signage, and lighting. The updates are additionally designed to improve mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The ongoing work involves realigning the northern leg of Woodbourne Road and constructing auxiliary turn lanes on all four approaches, according to PennDOT.

Crews will also widen the eastern leg of Woodbourne Road to accommodate a left-turn lane on Langhorne-Yardley Road approaching Erica Drive.

James D. Morrissey, Inc., of Philadelphia, is serving as the general contractor for the project. The improvements are funded through 80 percent federal and 20 percent state monies.
