Naked Brewing Company announced Monday that it will shutter its Mill Street taproom in Bristol Borough later next month after being impacted by rising operational costs and a shifting craft beer market.

The Bristol Borough taproom is scheduled to close for good on Sunday, June 28.
The company’s original location on Buck Road in Lower Southampton Township (Huntingdon Valley) will remain in operation, the owners said.
In a statement released Monday morning, owners Jim Crossland, Shawn Dulee, and Danny Ceisler, who also serves as the county sheriff, described the closure as a decision driven by economic conditions and sustainability.

“We can no longer sustainably provide a product we’re proud of at a reasonable price while also making ends meet and paying our employees a decent wage,” the owners said. “The cost of ingredients, supplies, and day-to-day operations has skyrocketed, and the market has shifted away from the complex craft beers that are the heart of what we do.”
The Mill Street location opened in 2020, just one month before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, the brewery expanded to occupy the full basement and first floor of the Mill Street building after the departure of Noble Earth, a local kombucha maker.

During the brewery’s time in the borough, the owners noted they faced hurdles, including the pandemic and multiple floods.
The owners said the brewery is a “passion project” that has overcome the challenges it has faced.
“It’s been a wild ride, and we’ve loved every minute of it,” the statement said. “We’ll be going out in true Naked fashion: loud and proud — because we did exactly what we set out to do.”

The owners told customers to visit the Mill Street location in the coming weeks to “raise a glass” before the final day of service.
The company also noted that its Lower Southampton Township (Huntingdon Valley) brewery location will remain open on weekends through the end of the year. The owners promised additional details on that space at a later date.

The closure will leave the borough with Odd Logic Brewing Company on Route 13. There are several nearby breweries, including Second Sin Brewing Company in Bristol Township, Broad Street Brewing in Bristol Township, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company in Bristol Township, Broken Goblet Brewing in Bensalem Township, and several others in Lower Bucks County.
The full note from the owners on Naked Brewing Company:
Hey Folks.
Fourteen years ago, we opened Naked Brewing Company with a clear vision: to brew unique, boundary-pushing beers and create a welcoming place where people could discover them together. Six years ago, we expanded that vision with the Bristol Taproom on Mill Street. It’s been a wild ride, and we’ve loved every minute of it!

It hasn’t always been easy. We’ve had to be survivors. From opening our flagship taproom a month before a worldwide pandemic, to enduring multiple floods, to navigating the countless challenges that come with running a brewery and taproom, a lot has been thrown our way. But we always rolled up our sleeves, put in the work, and kept things afloat.
Unfortunately, times have changed. We can no longer sustainably provide a product we’re proud of at a reasonable price while also making ends meet and paying our employees a decent wage. The cost of ingredients, supplies, and day-to-day operations has skyrocketed, and the market has shifted away from the complex craft beers that are the heart of what we do.

Naked Brewing has always been a passion project. Our goal was to share our love for interesting beer in a space that encouraged conversation, curiosity, and genuine connection.
With that being said, the Naked Bristol Taproom will be permanently closing our doors on Sunday, June 28th.
To our loyal patrons: THANK YOU.
Thank you for spending your time with us, for sharing your weekends, family outings, celebrations, victories, heartbreaks, and everyday moments with our family.
This isn’t good-bye yet. We hope you’ll join us over the coming weeks to raise a glass to the community you helped us build. We’ll be going out in true Naked fashion: loud and proud – because we did exactly what we set out to do, and we had a hell of a time doing it.
𝗪𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔, 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐋.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
Love,
Team Naked
PS- Our brewery location in Huntingdon Valley will remain open on weekends until the end of the year. More on that later.
