The Bristol Township Police Department is calling on residents to assist in crime prevention efforts through the launch of a new Town Watch program.

The restart of the program is aimed at assisting with public safety by encouraging community members to act as the “eyes and ears” of their neighborhoods.
Police posted on Facebook that while the department strives for a constant presence, the help of the public is key for comprehensive coverage.
“We canโt be everywhere at every time, although we strive to be,” the department said. “Weโre looking for the help of the community.”

The program is open to all residents, with a focus on those already active in their neighborhoods, including dog walkers, joggers, and those who frequently walk outdoors.
Participants will be tasked with reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement, fostering neighborhood connections, and promoting safety awareness, police said.

Bristol Township has hosted similar neighborhood watch groups in the past.
An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at police headquarters at 2501 Bath Road.
During the meeting, officers intend to outline the specific requirements of the program and discuss how residents can participate in making the township safer.
