Daniel Gregory Edwards, 31, was sentenced recently by Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Senior Judge Jeffrey Finley to three years of probation. In addition to the supervision, Edwards was ordered to pay $3,105.19 in restitution to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The sentencing comes after Edwards’ was arrested by Penndel Borough Police Department after an investigation that began in March 2024.

Police said Edwards cashed a federal government pension check totaling $3,105.19 that was payable to another person on June 4, 2024, at a business located on Durham Road.

Edwards presented a counterfeit New Jersey driverโ€™s license, according to police.

While the license contained personal identifying information belonging to the actual pensioner, the physical description and photograph on the ID was for a different person, police said.

By endorsing the check and presenting the counterfeit license, the holder was able to get cash for the pension check, police said.

Police said they identified Edwards after comparing the photograph on the fraudulent license with images in law enforcement databases.

The comparison confirmed that the man pictured on the ID was Edwards, according to police.
