Florida Man Has Suspected Overdose During Middletown Crash

A Florida man will be charged after a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-295 last weekend, per the Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of the highway, just before the Penndel-Levittown exit, at approximately 7:45 p.m. for reports of a crash.

At the scene, troopers discovered a 2010 Subaru Impreza overturned and resting on its roof in the highway.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Palm Springs, Florida, sustained minor injuries in the wreck, state police said.

Troopers noted the driver appeared to be suffering from a possible overdose at the scene.

The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad transported the man to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment.

Troopers said they determined the crash happened when the Subaru struck a guide rail and caused the driver to lose control.

The vehicle rolled over before coming to a rest.

The car sustained major damage and was towed from the crash scene.

State police said they plan to charge the driver with DUI the single-vehicle wreck.
