Person Killed By Train On West Trenton Line

A person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train on the West Trenton Line on Wednesday night.

The deadly incident took place around 8:20 p.m. on the tracks near the intersection of Walsh and Comly avenues, according to Middletown Township Sgt. Michael Russo.

Officers who arrived at the scene located the deceased and secured the area until the SEPTA Transit Police Department could arrive to lead the investigation.

SEPTA spokesperson Kelly Greene said a southbound train struck the person, who was in the track area, just before 8:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported among the passengers or SEPTA crew members on board the train, Greene said.

After the crash, SEPTA requested shuttle buses to transport passengers from the stopped train during the investigation.

As of Wednesday night, rail service remained suspended in both directions between the Neshaminy Falls and West Trenton stations.

The Bucks County Coroner’s Office was requested to the scene to assist in the investigation.
