A shooting in Bristol Township last week, which was captured on a neighbor’s security camera, appears to be the result of a workplace dispute that escalated, police said.

Bristol Township police reported that no injuries occurred in the shooting, which took place shortly after 4:30 a.m. last Thursday in the 700 block of Washington Avenue in the Croydon section.

A home security video obtained by LevittownNow.com and NBC 10 shows a sedan traveling the wrong way down Washington Avenue when flashes, which are believed to be from a gun, are seen.

Police discovered shell casings outside the residence after responding to the scene of a possible shooting hours later.

The family sleeping inside the house was unaware of the shooting until they saw a video on a social media platform, police said.

A resident said they did not believe any bullets penetrated the home.

Sgt. Jason Mancuso of the Bristol Township police said the investigation is ongoing, and the incident followed several days of reported harassment.

Detectives have conducted interviews, and an 18-year-old Bristol woman allegedly connected to the incident was arrested last Thursday afternoon at a Wegman’s in Lower Makefield Township on a firearm-related offense.

Lower Makefield and Newtown Township police found the woman and determined she had a gun weapon in the store. They recovered a loaded Beretta 9mm handgun, court papers said.

Mancuso said there is a nationwide trend of young people using firearms in disputes, calling it “a very serious issue” that “puts community members in Bucks County in danger.”

The longtime officer cautioned that stray bullets pose a significant risk.

“Projectiles and firearms are dangerous, and projectiles can travel a very long way,” Mancuso said. “Anyone firing off a gun as part of a dispute is putting everyone in danger.”
