The crash happened at the intersection of Main Street and Trenton Avenue in Hulmeville Borough on Sept. 14 at 7:40 p.m., according to a press release issued this week by the Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said the 17-year-old girl was driving a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. She reportedly stopped at the intersection before proceeding without the required clearance, causing her vehicle to be struck on the side by a 2015 Hyundai Tuscon.
The Tuscon, driven by a 44-year-old Northumberland County woman, veered onto the curb and sidewalk after the crash. The SUV struck a PECO pole.

Police said the Hyundai sustained serious damage and had to be towed from the scene, while the Mercury had moderate damage.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries. A 20-year-old passenger in the Mercury was also injured.

The driver of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital by Bensalem EMS for treatment. The teen driver and her passenger refused transport to the hospital.
Firefighters and a tow truck crew assisted troopers and ambulance crews at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver is being cited for duties at a stop sign, state police said.
