The blaze was reported around 7:15 a.m. after it broke out in the power station in the 900 block of South Port Road at the Keystone Trade Center.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said workers were dismantling the plant and cutting up the two-story, multi-sectional turbine when the fire began.

The fire marshal believes the turbine may have contained some residual oil and it sparked during cutting of the turbine.
According to dispatch reports, firefighters used water and foam to control the blaze, which took about an hour.
The former power station is in the process of being dismantled as part of the Keystone Trade Center development.
