Red-light cameras will be activated at Route 13 and Green Lane, and at Route 13 and Edgely Road starting on Monday, Aug. 18.
For the first 60 days, motorists who run a red light will receive a warning notice by mail instead of a fine, polie said.
Following the warning period, monetary fines of $100 will be issued for violations.

Bristol Township officials have previously said the cameras will have a half-second grace period after a light turns red before issuing a violation.
All violations will be reviewed by police officers before citations are sent.

“These cameras are about prevention, not punishment,” police said in a statement. “They serve as a constant reminder to slow down, stay alert, and respect the rules of the road.”
The red-light cameras photograph vehicles that enter an intersection after the light has turned red.
If a violation is recorded, the registered owner of the vehicle receives a citation by mail.

According to police, funds from the violations are used to pay for equipment, with the remainder going to PennDOT to upgrade intersections throughout the state. The township does not receive any proceeds from violations.

Police said the cameras are expected to reduce the number of serious crashes the number of drivers running red lights.

The township approved camera systems at Veterans Highway (Route 413) and Western Avenue, and at Veterans Highway and Wharton Road, but no start date has been announced for those intersections.
Sensys Gatso, a Swedish company, will provide the red-light camera systems.
