Fugitive Wanted For Attempted Murder Arrested In Falls Twp.

A man wanted in New Jersey for attempted murder and weapons possession was arrested Thursday morning in Falls Township.

Taquan Simmons, 28, was apprehended at approximately 7 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Mill Creek Road.

The arrest was made by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, Falls Township police, and the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, a law enforcement officials said.

Simmons was sought by the Middlesex County, New Jersey, Prosecutor’s Office in connection with a shooting that occurred May 31 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, authorities said.

An arrest warrant for Simmons was issued on June 1, and he has been wanted since that time, authorities said.

Simmons was also wanted by the New Jersey State Parole Board for parole violations.

“When you flee your jurisdiction, you just change the Marshals task force that’s going to arrest you. This was a collaborative investigative effort that included the Marshals Task Forces in Philadelphia and Trenton as well as the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office,” said Robert Clark, supervisory deputy for the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
