A 27-year-old man was arrested recently on charges related to the dissemination of child sexual abuse material, law enforcement officials said.

John Michael McGarvey Jr., of Falls Township’s Levittown section, was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge John Galloway on charges of dissemination of photo and film of child sex acts or abuse, child sexual abuse material, and criminal use of communication facility. He was initially held by the district judge on 10 percent of a $1 million bail but he was later released after bail was reduced by a Court of Common Pleas judge to 10 percent of $250,000.
The investigation started in early March when Bucks County Detectives received a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip came from the social media platform Kik.
Authorities said the tip indicated that a Kik user had shared multiple suspected child sexual abuse material files in February.

Law enforcement officials said they traced several files to a Kik account linked to a Gmail account under the name “Johnny Bacon.”
Detectives linked this account to a residence in the Falls Township section of Levittown.

Kik records obtained during the investigation included a chat log in which the user discussed sharing “teen stuff,” with messages stating he was “not into toddlers, just little teens,” and referencing “mom and son stuff,” detectives said.
The profile picture associated with the Kik account appeared to be a photo of McGarvey himself, according to law enforcement.
McGarvey’s attorney didn’t comment on the case.
