The parking garage at the St. Clare Medical Building has been closed due to “structural concerns” identified during a routine inspection, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.

The closure was a “proactive effort” taken out of an abundance of caution following an inspection, according to Jason Griffith. He emphasized that no incidents had occurred.

“While no incidents have occurred, the St. Mary leadership team took swift action to prevent any potential risks,” Griffith said. “Working closely with a team of engineers and safety experts, a comprehensive evaluation of the garage was conducted, and now necessary repairs are being made to ensure that the garage meets the highest standards of safety.”

The hospital expects the repair work will be completed by the end of 2025.

To further assist those coming to the campus, a second free valet parking service has been added in front of the Franciscan Medical Building, which is located adjacent to the closed St. Clare garage, Griffith said.

Free valet parking is also available at the hospital’s main entrance.
