The Falls Township Board of Supervisors rejected a bid for traffic signal improvements after the proposal came over the budgeted amount.

At their meeting earlier this week, supervisors quickly moved to vote down the proposal for the project at Trenton Road and Olds Boulevard.
Supervisors Chairperson Jeff Dence simply noting the bid was “almost double” what the township had allocated for the project.
The board then moved to reject the bid for the work.

The project would have upgraded the existing traffic signal system at the intersection, but township officials determined the cost was prohibitively high compared to initial estimates.
“Thanks for deciding against it,” a resident told the supervisors. “I really appreciate it. Thank you for not wasting our money.”

By rejecting the overpriced bid, the township can potentially rebid the project or explore alternative solutions to stay within the budget.
