A man was convicted Wednesday of raping and sexually assaulting a girl in Bristol Township, authorities said.

Charles J. Sylvester, 39, of King of Prussia, Montgomery County, was found guilty by a jury of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, and two counts of indecent assault following a three-day trial, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Charissa Liller revoked Sylvester’s bail after the conviction and deferred sentencing. The judge ordered that the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board evaluate Sylvester to determine if he meets the criteria to be declared a sexually violent predator.
Bristol Township police began investigating the case in early 2024.

According to authorities, the crimes occurred between 2015 and 2018 when the victim and her family lived in Bristol Township.
The victim identified Sylvester as her attacker, police said.

The girl told police that he sexually assaulted and raped her inside the home when she was between the ages of 9 and 11.
