Four F-16 fighter jets roared over Lower Bucks County on Monday afternoon as the conducted laps ahead of a flyover for the Philadelphia Phillies’ home opener.

Flight tracking data indicated the jets flew at just over 3,000 feet above Middletown and Newtown Townships. They made several passes before heading towards Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia.
The jets then flew over the stadium as Kane Kalas, son of the late broadcaster Harry Kalas, sang the National Anthem.
The flyover preceded the Phillies’ 6-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies. The next game is scheduled for Wednesday.

Military jets routinely use the skies over Lower Bucks County for practice runs before flyovers at Philadelphia sporting events.
According to NBC 10, the aircraft were F-16C variants, single-seat versions of the multirole fighter jet.

The F-16, which were introduced in the late 1970s, remains in production and is used by the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, U.S. Navy, and numerous militaries worldwide, including Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion.
