Former Aide Wanted For Allegedly Taking Money From Client

A former home health aide is being sought by police for the theft of more than $1,000 from an elderly woman in Falls Township, police said.

Falls Township police began investigating the case on Feb. 4 after receiving a report from Bristol Township police regarding alleged fraud against a resident of the Lakeview Terrace Apartments.

According to police, the woman, who is on disability, told officers that Ashli Nora Mohamed, 34, of Trenton a former aide from from a home health care company, had made unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account.

The woman stated that Mohamed had assisted her with various tasks, including the sale of her vehicle in July 2024.

The woman reported that Mohamed told her the car sale placed her in a higher tax bracket and that she needed $400 for a tax specialist, which worried the woman because she might loss her disability assistance, police said.

The woman gave Mohamed her debit card to get the $400 to withdraw the money, police said.

The woman told an investigator she discovered unauthorized withdrawals totaling $1,020.

An investigation revealed that on Feb. 2 that $520 was withdrawn from the woman’s account at a The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown ATM in Bristol Township, police said.

On Feb. 3, $500 was withdrawn from a PNC Bank ATM inside a convenience store in Trenton, police said.

Bank records also showed that the woman and Mohamed visited the The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown on Feb. 3 where they attempted to withdraw more money than was available. Bank employees reported that Mohamed appeared to be influencing the woman during the transaction, police said.

Further investigation showed two additional purchases using the account, one at a Dunkin Donuts in Ewing, New Jersey, and one at store in Bucks County, which were made on Feb. 3, police said.

The owner of the home health company confirmed that Mohamed had been assigned to the woman in June 2024 and was terminated from the company on Jan. 18, police said.

Police said they were able to review footage of withdraws from the bank and Trenton store.

Mohamed is wanted on charges of financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person, unauthorized access device, and theft.
