After 18 years, Bristol Township has launched a new website designed to improve communication with residents while ensuring full accessibility for users with disabilities. The new website launched late last month.
The new site includes a navigation banner across the top featuring sections for government, departments, community and “how do I” that remains visible as users scroll through pages.
The web address for the website has shifted from BristolTownship.org to BristolTWPPA.gov. However, the old domain will forward to the new website.

Large graphic buttons provide quick access to frequently used features like agendas and minutes, online payments, permits, program registrations and notifications.
Residents can sign up for township neighborhood updates and alerts, officials touted.

The redesigned platform features intuitive navigation, enhanced search capabilities and complete compatibility with screen readers for those with visual impairments.
“Our website is fully accessible to people with disabilities,” said Assistant Township Manager Heather Satterly, who spearheaded the website project. “If there’s anybody who has limited site capabilities, the website is fully accessible via screen reader.”
The website includes sections for township news, two separate calendars for events and meetings, Facebook integration, and comprehensive information about township government, departments and services.

The website includes an calendar system featuring township meetings, events, and important dates like bulk pickup schedules, yard waste collection and township cleanups. Users can subscribe to receive automatic notifications when new items are added.
A new “Report a Concern or Share Compliment” feature allows residents to submit general inquiries, report issues like potholes or streetlight outages, and provide feedback.

In less than a month since launch, the system has already processed 20 to 30 requests that were routed to appropriate departments, Satterly said.
Analytics built into the platform will help township staff understand what information residents are searching for most frequently, Satterly said.

The site’s enhanced search functionality has drawn praise for its accuracy and ease of use, according to Bristol Township Council members.
Township Solicitor Scott Holbert noted the ease when searching for information on the new website.
