Crews were dispatched to the blaze in the 4000 block of Beaver Dam Road at 6:47 a.m., the Third District Fire Company reported. Responding units included Bristol Township Fire Rescue, Levittown Fire Company No. 2, Edgely Fire Company, Croydon Fire Company, and Newportville Fire Company.

At the scene, firefighters reported smoke showing from the single-family home.

Fire officials said crews established a water supply and entered the burning house with a hand line.

Three dogs were removed from the residence and one dog was unconscious.

A Bristol Township Fire Rescue firefighter administered oxygen using a pet oxygen mask until the animal regained consciousness, Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

The sole resident was alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm, which Dippolito noted had been installed by the Third District Fire Company approximately four years ago.

The fire originated near an outlet on the first floor, the fire marshal said.

After a quick knockdown of the flames, crews remained on the scene for an extended period for overhaul.

The pet oxygen masks used in the rescue were donated to Bucks County fire stations in 2018 by Emily Rillings, the fire marshal said.

“We have used them several times,” he added.
