Waste Management has apologized to Middletown Township residents for incorrect customer ID numbers included in recent mailings about online account access.

The company, which began its new once-per-week waste collection contract with the township last month, is now providing residents with new, corrected IDs.

Residents received letters recently with customer IDs to set up online profiles for their trash and recycling service. However, Waste Management said a printing error led to some residents receiving incorrect numbers.

In a message to residents, Waste Management said new letters with corrected customer ID numbers are being mailed and should arrive this week.

The company advised residents to destroy the original notice and use the new ID number when the new letter arrives.

The corrected number may be the same as the original, but the company is re-issuing all IDs to ensure accuracy, oficials said.

Waste Management apologized for the error and any confusion it caused. They also asked residents not to contact the township or Waste Managementโ€™s customer service line about the incorrect IDs.

The company said they are working to provide residents with โ€œthe quality services they deserve.โ€
