One person was taken to the hospital after a Saturday afternoon fire in Bristol Borough.

Firefighters were called at 3:19 p.m. after reports of a dwelling fire in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue, according to Fire Chief Herb Slack.
Arriving at the scene, crews encountered heavy smoke emanating from the first floor of a home from a fire within a wall on the rear porch, Slack said.
Crews quickly moved to extinguish the blaze and checked for potential spread to adjacent homes.

The fire was spread to a neighboring home and firefighters contained it to the wall with no further extension reported, the chief said.
The fire was declared under control by 3:35 p.m., Slack said.

One resident from the neighboring home was transported to the hospital by Bucks County Rescue Squad, according to the chief.
The extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately known.
Authorities have indicated that the fire appears to be accidental, but the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and potential ignition source.
