

A New York man was arrested Monday in Bensalem Township and later admitted to several heists in the region, authorities said.

Marc Masich, 47, of Amherst, New York, was taken into custody outside the PNC Bank on Hulmeville Road in Bensalem Township around 5:21 p.m.. It was moments after fleeing the bank with approximately $4,000 in stolen cash, according to the Bensalem Township Police Department.
The incidents began around 5 p.m. when Masich, who was wearing a black knit hat, black surgical mask, navy blue sweatshirt, and black pants, attempted a robbery at the TD Bank on Street Road. He handed the teller a note demanding all the money from the drawer and requested no trackers. The teller triggered a silent alarm and informed Masich that he couldn’t access the cash, which led to Masich fleeing, police said.
Shortly after, at 5:13 p.m., Masich entered a nearby Santander Bank, still wearing his mask. When employees requested he lower the mask, he left without further incident, police said.

A Middletown Township detective alerted Bensalem Township police that the suspect might be driving a small black Nissan sedan and a connected to a Dec. 12 robbery at the Santander Bank on Flowers Mill Road in Middletown Township, police said.
The information from the Middletown Township detective led a Bensalem officer to the PNC Bank, where he spotted Masich exiting the unregistered vehicle, police said.

Following his arrest, Masich admitted to the day’s attempted and successful robberies. He also confessed to previous robberies at Santander Bank off Flowers Mill Road in Middletown Township, Santander Bank in North Wales, Montgomery County, and Truist Bank in Newtown Square, Delaware County. He used the same demand note, according to police.
Police and the FBI were investigating whether Masich is linked to additional bank robberies in the area, authorities said.
Masich was charged with multiple felonies, including robbery and terroristic threats. He was arraigned by on-call District Justice Frank Peranteau and was held at Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
