A local family’s difficult year was brightened this Christmas thanks to the kindness of emergency responders and motorcyclists.

The Taylor family, including a mother and her four children ages 7, 9, 13, and 5, have faced medical challenges this year and that has strained their ability to celebrate the holiday season.
However, the rumble of motorcycles and the blare of sirens brought unexpected joy to their home on Jefferson Street in Bristol Borough on Sunday.
Organized by the Knights of the Inferno Keystone Chapter — a group comprised of veterans, military members, and emergency responders — the procession included police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, dozens of motorcycles, and a number passenger vehicles. They were all there to deliver gifts and holiday cheer.

Jacqui Redner, the spokesperson for the Knights of the Inferno, shared the emotional moment when the family learned they had been chosen.
“One of the things she wrote in her letter was that not being able to do anything for her kids this Christmas because of her being sick and still trying to just keep a roof over their heads, she just couldn’t do Christmas this year, Redner said. “But she didn’t want her kids to lose the magic of Christmas.”

Moved by her note to the motorcycle club, the group decided to step in this Christmas.
“They were so sweet, and the minute that the mom found out that we picked her, she just started crying. She is just the sweetest woman and didn’t want anything for herself,” Redner said.
The children received gifts and a special visit from Santa Claus himself to add a touch of magic to their holiday.

Additionally, the motorcyclists presented a “Star of Hope” necklace to show off the community’s support during the family’s ongoing medical battle.
“The world thinks of [motorcycle clubs] as the bad guys,” said Clayton Long, the motorcycle club’s chaplain. “Today we proved that the horns are only there to hold up our halos.”

The motorcycle club was assisted by the Bucks County Rescue Squad, the Bristol Consolidated Fire Station 50, the America Hose Hook and Ladder Fire Company, the Tullytown Fire Company, State Rep. Tina Davis, Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe, the Bristol Township Police Department, the Bristol Borough Police Department, EMS Angels Motorcycle Club XXVII, Northeast Riders Motorcycle Club, Knights of the Inferno Apollo Chapter, and others.
