After a two-year renovation, Silver Lake Nature Center unveiled its newly reconstructed observation deck earlier this month.

The fresh platform was renovated to improve visitor experiences and show off the scenic views the park.
Bucks County officials and nature center representatives, including PattiAnn Cutter, director of the county-owned facility, gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the deck that overlooks the marshy confluence of Mill Creek and Magnolia Lake.
“I am so grateful to the County of Bucks for making this happen with the funding and also a contribution from the nonprofit Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center organization,” Cutter said.

Athena Contractors carried out the reconstruction in conjunction with Gilmore and Associates Engineers.
The reconstruction largely took place from August to October with final touches in November.

According to Cutter, the closure of the observation deck was felt deeply by visitors, members, and volunteers who frequent the 264-acre site, known for its biodiversity and as a crucial part of the preserved coastal plain woodlands.
Located in Bristol Township and Bristol Borough, the nature center is adjacent to the 175-acre Delhaas Woods.
Cutter encourages the public to visit the renovated deck and explore the center’s trails, which are open daily from sunrise to sunset.
