Kelvontae Nasheed Perry, 30, was found guilty following a bench trial presided over by Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman. In addition to third-degree murder, Perry was convicted of aggravated assault, illegal firearm possession, possessing an instrument of crime, possessing a weapon, and tampering with evidence.

The trial started last week, and the judge deferred sentencing for 90 days for a pre-sentence investigation.

Shaquille Love, 21, was killed on December 23, 2020, in the 1800 block of Edgely Road.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristin McElroy described Love as an “innocent victim” caught in the crossfire of a longstanding feud between rival neighborhoods in Bristol Township.

โ€œShaquille Love paid the ultimate price for helping out a friend,โ€ McElroy said.

According to testimony in court, Love was driving a friend home when they encountered Perry, who was following Love’s car in a gold Lexus along with another occupant from a rival neighborhood. When Love pulled over to let the Lexus pass, Perry slowed down enough for his co-conspirator to fatally shoot Love from the passenger window before speeding away.

โ€œEnough is enough,โ€ McElroy said in her closing arguments last week. โ€œThis violence in Bristol Township needs to stop.โ€

The vehicle used in the crime was discovered a month later at Perry’s girlfriend’s apartment complex.

On the night of the shooting, police responded to a call at the scene around 7 p.m., where they found Love deceased in the driver’s seat of his vehicle from a gunshot wound to the head.

Two acquaintances of Perry testified that he admitted involvement in the shooting. The co-conspirator accused of firing the shot has not been charged.

Additionally, Quashaad James, 29, also from Bristol Township, faces perjury and false swearing charges for misleading the Grand Jury during the investigation. James, who is incarcerated on unrelated charges, had falsely accused another individual of being the shooter.

District Attorney Jennifer Schorn expressed her condolences to Loveโ€™s family.

โ€œOur hearts go out to the Love family for the loss of their son Shaquille in a senseless act of violence,โ€ Schorn said. โ€œThey had to wait almost four years, but today thanks to this outstanding team that has worked this case since the night it happened made sure that justice was finally served with the conviction of one of the assailants. This team was tireless in their efforts to gather the necessary evidence that led to this successful prosecution.โ€

In a 2021ย plea to the public for information on the fatal shooting, Shauna Love, the mother of the victim, said: โ€œNo one had the right to walk up to his car and shoot him.
