The Pennsylvania State Police were called to I-95 near the Bristol Exit in Bristol Township on Tuesday, Nov. 12, where they found the driver of a 2007 silver Toyota Prius, who had apparently merged right and collided with another vehicle. When approached by a trooper, they detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, state police said.
Alexandra Nicole Sepulveda, 23, resisted orders to remain by her vehicle and was threatened with handcuffs, state police said.
After being questioned by a trooper as tow truck was on the scene, Sepulveda claimed she had smoked marijuana and cited her residency in New Jersey as the reason why it was fine, state police said.

While the incident was being sorted out, Sepulveda got back into her car and attempted to drive away, state police said.
A trooper pulling her from the car, which led to a brief struggle before she was handcuffed, state police said.
While being detained near a patrol vehicle, Sepulveda made more attempts to escape, including running towards the interstate before being restrained again by troopers. She also tried to break the driver-side rear window of a patrol car and attempted to kick the troopers, state police said.

Sepulveda reportedly stated she was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and had hit her head while traveling at 75 mph, troopers wrote in court papers.
Sepulveda, who holds a Texas driver’s license, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest, DUI, reckless endangerment, and other offenses. She was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Gary Gambardella and initially held on 10 percent of a $70,000 bail, which was later reduced to 10 percent of $10,000.
