The crash on I-295 westbound happened just after 8:30 p.m. last Saturday, and a passing driver called 9-1-1 to report the crash.
The vehicle was initially reported to be ablaze, but arriving responders did not find it on fire, according to Frank Farry, the chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company.
The man was found outside the vehicle, and two children were inside, Farry said.

Farry said rescue workers were on the scene for 45 minutes, and the tower truck from the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company stayed at the scene for several hours, providing lighting for crash investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police.
In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Parkland, Penndel, and Newportville fire companies responded to the call.
