William McMackell, aged 10, of 2415 Dauphin Street in Philadelphia, was serious injured in an auto accident in Hulmeville Sunday afternoon about 4:30 o’clock when a truck driven by Walter Colville, of Bridgewater, is said to have struck the boy, knocking him down as he was crossing Main Street.
The boy had been visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Hull, of Hulmeville, and did not apparently see Colville’s machine as he ran across the street.
The rear wheel of the car is said to have passed over the boy’s abdomen and he was cut and bruises about the face and head.

Several men near the scene of the accident assisted Colville in picking up the unconscious boy and rushed him to Harriman Hospital. His condition is thought to be serious.
Colville later gave himself up to the Hulmeville authorities. He was held on $500 bail to await the outcome of the boy’s injuries.
