Andre Jamal Hall, of Pottstown, Montgomery County, was preliminarily arraigned Monday evening by on-call District Judge Terry Hughes on charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and other offenses.

The incident occurred at the Wawa store located at the intersection of State Road and Veterans Highway in the Croydon section of Bristol Township on Monday afternoon.

Police said an officer initiated a stop after noticing an “extreme” window tint and a broken tail light on Hall’s Nissan Ultima.

During the stop, officers observed a marijuana blunt in the vehicle’s cup holder, which Hall admitted to having, police said.

Hall was unable to provide insurance documents during the stop, police said.

When instructed to remain at the scene, Hall attempted to walk away and ignored multiple commands to stop, leading to officers using a Taser, police said.

Hall repeatedly reached for his waistband during the encounter with officers, police said.

After resisting arrest, Hall was restrained and officers found a semi-automatic handgun with a 30-round magazine in his pants, police said.

The firearm’s serial number had been etched off the handgun, police said.

A database check revealed that Hall does not possess a concealed carry permit or carry permit, police said.

Hall was jailed on 10 percent of $250,000.
