In a unanimous decision, the supervisors Monday evening authorized the advertisement for bids on the culvert replacement project along South Olds Boulevard, which has been a longstanding township issue.
The project has been “on the books for quite a while now,” Township Engineer Joseph Jones said during the meeting.
Recent PennDOT inspections have found the structure to be sound, Jones said.

“We don’t feel that the bridge is in any imminent failure mode,” he said.
Jones stated that the construction, which is estimated to cost up to $650,000, could begin as soon as next spring.

The early advertisement for bids will help with budgeting for the 2025 fiscal year, officials said.
The township will also be pursuing grants to offset the project costs.
Additionally, the board approved two items for a PennDOT-led project near the local Wawa on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road.

PennDOT will pay Falls Township $71,000 for necessary right-of-way acquisitions to advance the planned intersection improvement project that has been in the works for years.

The supervisors also granted PennDOT a 2,292-square-foot sidewalk easement and a temporary construction easement, said township solicitor Lauren Gallagher.

The proposed PennDOT project focuses on reconfiguring the intersection near the Oxford Point Shopping Center and adding signalization. Plans also call for the installation of dual left-turn lanes at the intersections of Oxford Valley Road and Lincoln Highway, as well as a northbound right-turn lane. These adjustments aim to streamline traffic flow and enhance access to Wawa and Philly’s Craft Beer.
In other business, the supervisors granted PennDOT access to Levittown Parkway and Sexton and Spur lanes for another construction project.
