Residents along Big Oak Road between Woodbourne Road and Township Line Road called 9-1-1 just past 12:30 a.m. for a building fire at Langhorne Scrap Metal Processing.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said crews found flames in a conveyor machine and discovered the blaze had spread to the roof line of the building.

Firefighters worked to put out the blaze in the building and used a tower truck to reach the roof line, Farry said.

The fire was placed under control within an hour and crews were on the scene for an additional hour.

Farry said firefighters arrived to find the scrap metal business closed and they had to cut the gate to gain access.

Firefighters worked to put out the flames amid rain storms.
