The Neshaminy Federation of Teachers (NFT) approved the tentative agreement that now awaits a vote from the school board slated for late June.

The proposed contract would run from July 1 through June 30, 2025, the union said.

The tentative deal includes salary increases, more prep time for elementary teachers, and additional lead teacher roles to bolster curriculum efforts.

According to NFT President Tara Huber, the agreement also introduces enhanced flexibilities for teachers managing family illnesses and establishes a committee to give staff a greater voice in educational changes.

“This one-year bridge agreement is a positive step forward and lays a strong foundation for a comprehensive, multi-year deal in the future,” Huber said.

This contract is the first negotiation under the leadership of Jason Bowman, who recently took over as superintendent.

The soon-to-end contract was approved by the school board in 2019 and will expire on June 30.
