Falls Township resident Donna Petrecco was appointed to the Pennsbury School Board as the new Region 2 representative.

The vote to appoint Petrecco came during a special meeting held last Thursday.
Petrecco succeeds Jim Prokopiak, who resigned in May. She will serve on the school board until December 1, 2025.
A Democrat and lifelong resident of Lower Bucks County, Petrecco is known for her involvement in a number of local organizations, including the Bucks County Housing Authority, Children’s House of Bucks County, the Falls Township Historic Preservation Commission, the Falls Township Democratic Party, and the Fallsington Library.

Petrecco holds a bachelor’s degree in ,arketing from St. Joseph’s University and is a licensed real estate agent in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

As a parent of two children, one of whom is currently enrolled at Pennsbury High School and another who has graduated, Petrecco said she brings a personal stake and insight into the district.
“My commitment to education is deeply rooted in both personal and professional experiences,” she said.
Petrecco added: “I have a firsthand understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students, teachers, and parents within our district. This perspective drives my passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high- achieving educational environment for all students.”

Petrecco was briefly a candidate for the 140th Legislative District seat’s special election, which was won by Prokopiak after it was vacated by State Rep. John Galloway.
Prokopiak won the seat last February and was sworn in on March 19. He briefly held dual roles as a state representative and school board member, an uncommon but legal situation under state law.
