
Falls Township is taking steps toward fostering a healthier environment for birds and wildlife.

On Tuesday at their work session, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors approved a resolution to adopt initiatives aligned with the Pennsylvania Audubon Council’s Bird Town program.
The decision was recommended by the Falls Township Environmental Advisory Council.
โItโs our commitment to using native plants and reducing stormwater runoff,โ Supervisors Vice Chairperson Erin Mullen said.

The Pennsylvania Audubon Council collaborates with municipalities to engage and educate residents, schools, and businesses about conservation efforts that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment for birds, wildlife, and people.
Falls Township has already achieved a Bronze Certification by completing tasks in four of the six Bird Town strategies.

The Bird Town Pennsylvania program features a tiered structure, allowing municipalities to start with Green Certification and progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. These levels reflect increasing conservation commitments and can be achieved at the community’s own pace.
Bird Town Pennsylvania emphasizes several key initiatives: municipal actions, school district actions, community engagement, habitat enhancement, collaborations, and advocacy.
