UPDATE: Police Seek Shooting Suspect

Bristol Township police said they suspect Jason E. Gater, 47, of Levittown, is the shooter from the Tuesday night incident. An arrest warrant was obtained and a search was on for the man.

Police Lt. Sean Cosgrove said investigators believe Gater is armed.

Gater is described by authorities as being 6-foot-tall, 230 pounds and balding with hazel eyes. He has tattoos on both sides of his neck, arms, and hands.

The warrant said that Gater is wanted on charges aggravated assault, procession of a firearm while prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal trespassing.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective John Jennings at 267-812-3043.

A woman was hospitalized after being shot late Tuesday night in Bristol Township, according to police.

Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from an anonymous caller at 10:42 p.m. The caller reported a female gunshot victim near the intersection of Norton Avenue and Ellwood Avenue, police said.

Upon arrival at 10:45 p.m., officers found a 33-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Immediate first aid was administered at the scene before the Levittown-Fairless Rescue Squad transported the wounded woman to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Middletown Township, police said.

As of Wednesday, the victim was reported by investigators to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into the shooting was ongoing, police told LevittownNow.com.
