A shed fire in the West Bristol section of Bristol Township was extinguished by crews on Thursday.

The blaze was reported at 12:33 p.m. by a neighbor that initially mistook it for a house fire due to the heavy amount of smoke, Third District Fire Company Chief Howard McGoldrick said.
Fire crews responded to the 9-1-1 call from the 300 block of Westminster Avenue.
Arriving firefighters from the Third District Fire Company and Bristol Township Fire Rescue, discovered the shed fully engulfed in flames in the backyard of the residence on Westminster Avenue, McGoldrick said.

Firefighters quickly confirmed that the flames had not spread to the nearby home and were contained to the shed, the chief said.
The fire was brought under control within minutes, according to McGoldrick.

Firefighters checked on the safety of two puppies in the home.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the cause of the blaze was accidental.
