As the lowest bidder, the council voted to select James D. Morrissey Inc. to undertake the 2024 program for $568,243.30.

The project will cover 1.8 miles of roadway across the township.

Yellowwood Drive, Young Birch Drive, Gun Road, Grasspond Road, Wistar Road, Mill Creek Road, Hatfield Street, and Old Orchard Lane will be milled and repaved, said Kurt Schroeder, the township engineer.

Since 2012, Bristol Township has repaved 143.14 miles of pavement across 571 roads.

Schroeder noted that by the end of 2024, nearly all township-owned roads are expected to have been recently repaved, with only a few remaining.

The majority of neighborhood roads are maintained by the township, while most larger roadways fall under the jurisdiction of PennDOT.

The continuing repaving program date back to 2013 when the township decided to overhaul municipal roads after determining that half needed resurfacing.

It was said at the time that many roads in the Levittown section had not been repaved since their initial construction in the 1950s.
