PennDOT reopened the northbound lanes of I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday following several days of closure due to an oversized load strike.

The vital stretch of highway was shut down for repairs and cleanup after the incident, which impacted the Conrail-owned bridge over the highway.
According to PennDOT, the repair work necessary to reopen I-95 North was completed by a contractor working for Conrail.

The crash initially led to a reduction in in lanes on I-95 North approaching the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange. The full closure of the interstate followed at 10 p.m. on Monday night and caused disruptions for commuters last week.
In addition to the reopening of I-95 North, PennDOT has also announced that the ramp from Castor Avenue to I-95 North is now accessible to traffic.
