The National Weather Service is warning residents to brace for a wet and potentially hazardous Saturday.

According to forecasters, Saturday is expected to be a soaker, with rainfall amounts ranging from 2 to 4 inches and locally higher amounts possible. The rain is part of a nor’easter moving up the coast.
The heavy rainfall poses a risk of flooding in urban areas and areas with poor drainage systems.
Officials have identified the Neshaminy Creek and Delaware River as vulnerable to flooding with water levels expected to rise through Sunday.

Hulmeville Borough police issued the following warning to residents: “Residents who live along the Neshaminy Creek are advised to monitor the water level and remove items from their property that could be carried away by rising waters. Residents are also reminded to be cautious of flooded roadways and please do not attempted to drive through the flood water.”
In addition to the flooding threat, strong winds are also forecasted. The winds are expected to reach 30 to 40 mph and even stronger gusts are possible. These powerful winds coupled with the saturated ground could lead to tree damage and downed power lines, forecasters said.

Weather authorities have issued a Flood Watch for Saturday through Sunday morning, as well as a Wind Advisory for Saturday night.
However, there’s a silver lining on the horizon. Following Saturday’s rain, sunny skies are predicted for Sunday. Temperatures expected to reach around 50 degrees.
