Harsh Kumar, an employee at the Express Fuel located at 652 Bellevue Avenue, was taken into custody after the girl reported the sexual assault to her father, who then contacted police shortly before 7:50 p.m. on Friday, court papers stated.
According to police, the girl told investigators that Kumar entered the public restroom at the gas station and ejaculated on her clothing.
She was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for an initial examination before being transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia for further evaluation, police said.

Investigators collected the girl’s clothes, finding white-colored stains consistent with semen, police said.

The girl also disclosed to ambulance personnel that she had been further assaulted by the gas station worker at the station, police said.

During questioning, Kumar admitted to entering the restroom with the girl and performed a sex act. He claimed to believe she was between 15 and 17 years old and referred to her as “underage,” police said.
The investigation was ongoing as of Tuesday, and police encouraged any additional victims or witnesses to come forward by contacting the police department at 215-757-5151 or in person at 300 Bellevue Avenue.
Kumar was preliminarily arraigned over the weekend by District Judge Stacy Wertman on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent, indecent assault on a person less than 16 years of age, and corruption of minors. He was jailed on 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
