At the Justice Center, Ali Harrison-El, 53, of Bristol Township, was found guilty by Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Charissa Liller during a bench trial for assaulting the woman on December 31, 2022 and February 18, 2023. The judge found him guilty of two counts each of simple assault and harassment and one count of theft by unlawful taking.

A bench trial, also known as a waiver trial, means that a defendant and prosecutor agree to waive a jury trial and have a judge decide.

Liller stated during the sentencing that Harrison-El, who has a lengthy criminal history, poses a public safety risk and had consistently failed to acknowledge his culpability. She highlighted his repeated violations of bail conditions, which included contacting the victim, which he ignored even while incarcerated, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Harrison-El sentenced by Liller to three to six years in state prison for the repeated abuse of his then-girlfriend.

In the December 2022 incident, Bristol Township officers responded to a call at the Wawa on Route 13 and Green Lane that a woman reported being assaulted by Harrison-El at a home on Beaver Dam Road, according to authorities.

In speaking with officers, the woman recounted how Harrison-El punched her in the head and chest and hit her with a curtain rod. He took her phone, which led to her escaping and walking to the Wawa to alert authorities.

Police at the time noted visible injuries on her, including bruises, scratches, and red marks.

Less than two months later, on February 18, police were dispatched to Beaver Dam Road for a domestic disturbance. The victim reported being assaulted during an argument with Harrison-El, who threw objects at her and caused elbow and leg injuries, authorities said.
