The bridge closure was caused a pedestrian who was struck around 6:15 a.m. on the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge that connects Bucks and Mercer counties, authorities said.
The pedestrian was walking illegally on the bridge when the crash happened in the northbound lanes, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission spokesperson Joseph Donnelly said.

A source said the pedestrian died from their injuries.
The bridge reopened around 10 a.m.
The bridge closure caused major traffic troubles in the area, and delays Pennsbury School District buses.

A crash closed the Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge on Thursday morning and led to traffic trouble on area roadways.

The bridge was closed around 6:30 a.m. due to a serious crash in the area of the span that crosses the Delaware River.
As of 8 a.m., PennDOT and the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission had Route 1 southbound closed in Trenton and Route 1 northbound was closed at Route 13.
Traffic on Route 13, Lincoln Highway, Tyburn Road, and West Trenton Avenue in Falls Township was reported to be heavier than normal due to the detours.

Morrisville Borough police were directing traffic on South Pennsylvania Avenue as traffic was diverted off and away from Route 1.
At times, northbound traffic slowdowns from the closure were nearing the Oxford Valley Road interchange.
