Starting Tuesday, January 2 through Friday, January 5 Maple Avenue (Route 213) between Woodbourne Road and Wheeler Way will see travel restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

PennDOT officials explained that these restrictions are due to necessary work involving the replacement of the stormwater system.

The local work is part of a larger $14.9 million project aimed at improving stormwater management and facilities across more than 90 state highways in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

PennDOT has asked local drivers to plan for additional travel time when passing through the affected areas. The work is likely to cause traffic backups and delays.

The entire project schedule remains dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Highway Materials Inc., of Flourtown, Montgomery County, has been contracted for the work.

The project is entirely state funded.
