On Saturday around 11:44 a.m., state police were called on I-95 northbound in Bensalem Township for the report of a crash.

Troopers said the crash was determined to be a hit-and-run wreck between a 2019 Kia Soul and a 2023 Tesla Model Y.

The Tesla was traveling on the center lane of I-95 northbound when the Kia passed it, nearly striking another car and hitting the Tesla in the rear bumper, state police said.

The Kia failed to stay at the crash scene and fled northbound on I-95, troopers said.

Although the Kia fled, troopers were able to get “specific details” on the Kia that helped in their investigation, according to the press release.

The Kia suffered damage to its right front bumper and tire. It was located abandoned about a mile from the crash site on the shoulder, troopers said.

State police said they discovered the Kia had been reported stolen.

Troopers stated they were able to determine a 17-year-old boy from Bristol was driving the Kia and a 16-year-old Levittown boy, a 17-year-old Levittown boy, a 16-year-old Bristol boy, and a 16-year-old boy from Bristol Township’s Croydon section were all passengers.
