A man has been arrested after an alleged shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon.

Bristol Township police were dispatched to Marie Lowe Drive for a report of a shooting at 1:10 p.m.
The first officers arrived a few minutes later and talked to a man who said he was shot at by a person he knew, according to court papers.
The resident of Marie Lowe Drive said a man he believed to be Rayshaun Daniel James, 22, of Bristol Township, entered his home while he was inside and pointed a gun in his face. James demanded money, according to police.

The resident reported being able to back out of the house and get on the porch, leading to James to again point the gun in the resident’s face, police said.
James reached in the man’s pants and pulled out $28 in cash, police said.

The resident made a move to escape and fell over a railing into the yard. As the resident got up and ran away, James fired one shot and then another, police said.
The resident, who was not struck by the bullets, jumped a fence and escaped in a vehicle, police said.
The resident was interviewed by police and confirmed James was the man who robbed him and shot at him, authorities said.

James, according to court papers, has had other recent police run-ins.
At the time of the alleged shooting, James was out on $5,000 unsecured bail for a Bristol Township theft from vehicle case from earlier this month, awaiting a court date in a December 12 Tullytown Borough retail theft case, and had just been cited by Bristol Township police in a separate retail theft incident.

In the Tullytown Borough retail theft case, James was allegedly unsteady on his feet, had pills with him, and had stolen several hundred dollars in merchandise, according to court papers filed by police.
After his retail theft arrest on December 12, James allegedly was talking about having guns and stated he was coming down from taking a Xanex, police said.

In this week’s shooting case, James was arrested Thursday afternoon and robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, simple assault, and theft. He was preliminarily arraigned by District Judge Kevin Wagner on 10 percent of $400,000 bail, which he could not post as of Friday.
Following his arrest Thursday, his bail in the theft from vehicle case was changed from $5,000 unsecured to 10 percent of $35,000.

In 2021, James was arrested after Bristol Township police alleged he shot a gun and punched a woman in the face. He pleaded guilty that year to possession of a firearm and other offenses and served a minimum of 364 days in custody. He was ordered to serve three years of probation.
